We work with two kinds of natural wood:
For preference we use solid wood from French forests (Burgundy oak, Grenoble walnut,..). The wood we use the most comes from oak, walnut and ash trees. Of course, we can also use other European species, such as larch, pear trees, olive trees or cherry wood, or exotic woods like teak, rosewood or zebrawood.
Over 200 wood finishes
Our workshop is one of the few in the region with a veneering machine. We do our own veneering so that we can keep control over the patterns in the wood and make sure the grain of the wood is continuous.
Veneering involves covering a medium-density fibreboard panel with a sheet of natural wood. This technique results in large smooth surfaces that are more stable than solid wood. The surfaces change less over time. It is often used for expensive wood, since it involves using less material.
To make sure furniture lasts over time, the wood needs to be varnished. Most of the time we recommend an Ultramat varnish for a natural effect and optimal protection. Wood can also be stained.
Wood can be lacquered in an endless number of colours : pastel tones, bright colours, shades of grey, shades of white or black, everything is possible.
Lacquer is applied by our specialised craftsman. High-quality lacquer requires several layers to be applied in between sandings to ensure a perfect and long-lasting result.
Over 85 colours with a matt or satin finish.
HI-MACS® is a “solid surface” material, a blend of acrylic, natural minerals and pigments that can take on an endless number of shapes. The smooth and non-porous surface of this latest-generation acrylic stone provides aesthetic results to meet the most demanding standards in manufacturing, practicality and hygiene, and are in many ways superior to traditional materials.
This is a material providing great freedom in terms of shapes, and opens up creative possibilities that other materials cannot match. It is highly versatile and can be used both indoors and out, as well as in bathrooms, making it very attractive to use during projects. This means we can keep control over the quality and the proper execution of our projects without bringing in a sub-contractor, since they work with wood machines.
We can also provide you with all kinds of stainless steel, granite, marble or quartz work surfaces made by our partners, so don’t hesitate to ask for advice.
