A friendly and practical custom kitchen for a family
The idea was to transform and modernize the kitchen/dining room of an old house dating back to the turn of the century for a couple in their thirties and their future children. The request was to create a friendly space, in which one can cook to several and allow to receive guests without being isolated in the kitchen.
The central element of the kitchen is the island called «Le Baou» (the Provencal word for rock). This monolith offers enough space to allow several people to cook in a friendly atmosphere. It discreetly houses the induction plate, dishwasher and sink while the rest of the appliances is hidden in the cupboards all height at the back.
